Texas Wild-rice is an endemic species that lives in the San Marcos River & no where else in th entire world. This species & many others rely on our conservation efforts to protect their habitats.

Texas State University is currently operating under Stage 4 drought conditions which requires a 40% reduction in our groundwater use. Conservation requires saving every drop of water.
