From a Sustainable Student

Our TXST students are superstars, so we want to hear from them! The “From a Sustainable Student” section will feature any topic that one of our student authors wants to write about. This could be anything from a sustainable tv series or documentary to sustainable recipes and even sustainable pop culture moments.

About the Editor

Kera Daughtery aka Keke is a senior Electronic Media major with minors in Women's Studies & Honors Studies and is the Public Relations Intern for Texas State's Office of Sustainability. Keke is a very involved Bobcat participating in the Stelos Scholars leadership program, serving as the Creative Director for the Honors College Ambassadors, and working as a Community Partnerships Fellow for Design for America. Upon graduating in December, Keke hopes to pursue her M.A. in Sustainability at Texas State and continue expanding her sustainability education nonprofit, The KERAvan.

About the Editor

Jengo Russell is Sustainable Bobcat here at Texas State University! He plans on fusing his major of Business Administration and Management with his Sustainability Studies minor in order to promote circular economy practices and increase efficiency in the waste management sectors. He is also very involved in volunteering here at Texas State and in the greater San Marcos Community, if you see him around, he'll greet you with a warm smile and amicable salutation.

Sustainable San Marcos

We’re fortunate enough to live in a city with such rich flora & fauna, and we must protect that at all costs. One of the best ways to achieve this is through community connectivity. The “Sustainable San Marcos” section will feature community events and ways to get involved so you can stay in the know

About the Editor 

Now in her fourth year as a Public Administration student at Texas State, Adriana currently serves as Community Outreach Intern for the TXST Office of Sustainability. She is also involved on and off campus as a community organizer, and has been certified since 2021 as a Hays County Voter Deputy Registrar. In her free time she enjoys supporting local businesses at the San Marcos Farmers Market, rambling about insects and their importance to the ecosystem, and cuddling with her pet rabbit Bobby."
